WoofSwap Proposes New Reforms For Shibarium

In a recent post on X, WoofSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX), shared several ways to fortify Shibarium and bring balance back to its developer community.. Among the most noteworthy are:

  • Using community feedback to modify the contentious 20 million BONE allocation
  • Refining smart contract design to reduce Ethereum gas fees
  • Including support for additional popular cross-chain tokens
  • Adding a BONE burn mechanism to the current SHIB burns
  • Opening validator nodes gradually to improve decentralization

WoofSwap also suggested relaunching community channels with a “lighter, more open approach,” transforming Karma into a meme coin with an airdrop to boost excitement, and launching new presale and gaming platforms to align with Web3 trends.

WoofSwap further noted: “For external goals like getting BONE listed on CEXs or Shibarium supported, we need to nail these internal changes first. Then, we can crowdfund listing fees or make Shibarium so hot that CEXs can’t ignore us.”

Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu ecosystem is progressing with other significant developments. Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama recently hinted at a new partnership focused on creating intelligent infrastructure for Shibarium. Additionally, the ecosystem is transitioning into a new phase with the rollout of the Alpha Layer update.

Accusations of Selective Endorsement by Shiba Inu Leaders

The call for reform comes on the heels of frustration over what WoofSwap describes as “uneven playing field” practices. WoofSwap criticized Shiba Inu leaders Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya for promoting the POE token of the Positions Exchange while ignoring other promising Shibarium projects.

WoofSwap believes this hurts the whole ecosystem because core leaders should not favor one project when anyone can build on Shibarium. The platform also noted that limiting payments to SOL and ETH creates an unfair situation.

Kaal Dhairya, a Shiba Inu developer, responded, stating he understands how this may come off as playing favorites.. Dhairya highlighted his efforts to increase WoofSwap’s visibility and argued that competition from outside is the real threat.

He cautioned against letting internal biases affect decisions in the ecosystem. Instead, he called for stronger governance from the DAO, clear leadership, and following ethical guidelines like the “Great Canine Code.” Dhairya believes a community-driven Shibarium is essential for giving all genuine projects a fair chance to succeed. He also shared that the network was pushing for unity to protect Shiba Inu from outside competitors and maintain the network’s credibility.

This comes just as Shiba Inu celebrates its 5th anniversary, with key stakeholders intensifying efforts to drive the project’s continued growth and innovation.

Despite the disagreements, both sides agree on the need for reform and transparency. If WoofSwap’s proposals are accepted, they could update Shibarium’s technology and draw new developers.
