As a precaution: it is expected that the new leader of Hezbollah, Safieddine, may have been killed.
On October 8th, Jinshi Data reported that Elias Bou Saab, the Lebanese Minister of Defense, said that senior Hezbollah official Safieddine was likely killed in last week's air strike on Beirut. Safieddine was originally the candidate to succeed the assassinated Hezbollah leader Nasrallah. Bou Saab said, "Hezbollah has become an organization without a leader. Nasrallah has been eliminated, and his successor may also have been eliminated. This has a dramatic impact on everything that has happened. No one makes decisions and no one takes action." He added that Hezbollah's firepower has also been severely hit, "The whole Middle East region has seen the actions we are taking.
