CoinVoice has learned that Rahul Agarwal, an engineer at the Indian encryption exchange CoinDCX, has been arrested by Bangalore police for allegedly assisting in a security incident that caused approximately $44 million (around 380 million rupees) in fund outflow.

The incident occurred on July 19, 2025, when CoinDCX detected a large amount of funds flowing from its wallet to multiple external addresses. Investigations revealed that Agarwal allegedly leaked system login credentials by installing malware, allowing the attackers to infiltrate the internal system. The police have filed charges against him under provisions of the Indian Information Technology Act and found that his account had financial transactions with the attackers. CoinDCX has launched a bounty program for asset recovery, offering a reward of up to 25% of the recovered amount. (Finance Feeds)
