Abstract generation in progress

On August 5, according to reports, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is studying how to allow some registered futures trading platforms to list leveraged digital assets, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

CFTC acting chair Caroline Pham stated, "The CFTC can now take a clear and straightforward solution." She referred to a column she published in March this year, suggesting that the agency could exercise its exemption authority to allow certain businesses to operate without the current regulatory constraints—constraints that currently only permit futures trading platforms to list derivative products.

The CFTC is now seeking public comments on the trading of spot contracts for digital assets listed on registered futures trading platforms, with a deadline of August 18.
